A Tribute To The Almost Forgotten Osage Prairie
2020, Bentonville, Arkansas
Steel, Earth, and Native Plants
The Osage Prairie once covered a vast area of tall grasses and wildflowers sweeping from Rogers to Centerton, but today only small pockets of this natural area remain. Drawing inspiration from geometry and modeled after the Prairie Blazing Star, a flower native to the land, these sculptures stand as a tribute to the past – to a landscape almost forgotten. Designed to rust in time, they express the inevitability of change and the power of nature to be reborn, giving us hope for tomorrow.
