Jonathan Perrodin is a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist, NWA Master Naturalist since 2019, who resides & works in Downtown Springdale, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007, with a B.A. in Philosophy. His work ranges from the acutely practical to the grandiose & abstract, exploring the questions that arise in the context of the world we live in.
I am an artist, philosopher, and environmentalist who practices ecological placemaking by working with steel, found objects, and native plants as my medium.
My work serves to shift the dichotomy of nature and man as separate things and to draw attention to their interconnectedness. Dostoevsky boldly states that “beauty will save the world”; By planting metal forms amidst native perennial flowers, I find that truth embodied within my work.
Regardless of the medium, each of my pieces are an invitation to a new way of being in and with the world by igniting curiosity and conversation centered on the environment..
