Now-Reading

I have been wanting for some time to find some nifty software which tracks my reading habits. I tend to read a lot, more than I even realize sometimes. So I came across a plugin someone was using on their website a little while ago, which shows what they are reading. I fished around until I found a tag stating who created the plugin.

I have downloaded it and begun to use it. I tweeked it a bit to suit my tastes. I removed the thumbnails of the cover which were being displayed on the sidebar and some of the other css layout qualities of the sidebar insert. There is a page displaying my full “library” which I haven’t really messed with adjusting yet, but there is one interesting bit that it displayed there—statistics. This is kind of fun to see how many books I have read this year, month, and average per month.

There some other features which some would like. Although I didn’t get it to work, without really trying though, there is supposedly a feature to although you to search Amazon’s database for book information from ISBN or other information. You can also link to affiliate site’s on Amazon you could even make some money through it.

I think that this plugin, if I can keep it updated, will be nice to look back on in the future, simply for the historical data keeping of what I’ve read. Because many times I forget what I’ve been reading, even the good books.
