It's the first time I've actually been interested in getting text messages on my phone (I haven't yet, but the idea seems cool; and by cool, I mean fun). But I'm with you--I don't get the 'live twitter' thing as part of an event. Twitter's an enjoyable part of the internet, like Facebook without the stupid, but I don't really see the value, outside of entertainment-style communication.
